The show built around Benny Hill, who for almost 20 years became one of the most recognizable comedians from Great Britain. Simple, sometimes childish, usually politically incorrect and universally funny.
Benny Hill, as many comedians of his time (f.e. Morecambe and Wise), started his career in vaudeville which made a huge mark on his show, where sketches were mixed with songs and musical numbers with one and only Hill’s Angels. He was active for over 20 years, which is remarkable for comedian, but it was inevitable that he started to repeat his just close to the end of the show.
Nevertheless Benny Hill Show is huge part of not only British, but also world culture. He experimented with different kinds of humour - verbal and non-verbal, made parodies of movies, tv programmes, famous stars, historical stories, etc. A must see for comedy buff.
