Life in the offices of television station isn’t what it would seem. Claude Casey becomes an assistant for the news anchorman Will Butler, which is not an easy job, especially when you have to deal with strange requests and mean colleagues.
The title of the series is almost accurate, because the series itself is less than perfect. I think the more appropriate title would be Far From Perfect, but that’s not the point.
Less Than Perfect wasn’t a great idea, just another show about office life with typical office humour - small intrigues, balance of power between the assistants, their bosses, between employees on different floors. The plots weren’t particularly interesting, sometimes not very entertaining, the cast had it’s ups and downs.
It is strange that this series was given such long time to develop (4 seasons) since during the season 2 it seemed that creators are running out of fresh ideas. The cast was gathered from actors with long list of previous comedy series (Sara Rue from Popular, Andy Dick from NewsRadio, Sherri Shepherd from Everybody Loves Raymond and Suddenly Susan, Patrick Warburton from Dave’s World, Seinfeld and Rules of Engagement), but it’s hard to tell if this could be counted as pros or cons, because they just remade their previous characters.
