Little Britain

2000s British tv comedy series

Sketch comedy show based on a two main actors Matt Lucas and David Walliams using various costumes and makeup to show the stereotypes within British society or to mock the taboo themes.

Little Britain concept was similiar to Fast Show - same characters, same jokes, same situations were repreated again and again, but unlike Fast Show Lucas and Walliams didn’t change much in the repeated sketches. The Only Gay in Village is always the same, Lou and Andy always repeat the same routine, etc.

The makeup used to transform Lucas and Walliams were great, characters were very original, the sketches were very original, but often lacked the signs of improvement. The format worked well in Fast Show because there were variations of the jokes and not just repeating them in exactly the same form.
