Alex and Whitney have two completely different kinds of characters, but together they are happy as a unmarried couple.

Whitney was created by Whitney Cummings (who also created 2 Broke Girls) and unfortunately she decided to play the lead character herself, which was a huge mistake. Her character was one of the weakest points of this not very successful project - she just seemed annoying and standing out from the professional actors she was playing with.

The other problem was the idea itself - there were so many shows about relationships and more or less unusual couples that it’s hard to create something really special based on that concept. And Whitney certainly wasn’t special - not that good scripts, blunt characters, unoriginal setting (bar or the apartment) and same ideas for episodes that we’ve seen already.
