Ex-guardsman who has seen action in Northern Ireland now is the Head of Security at Buckingham Palace... car park. But still this seems to be quite a challenge for him and the rest of the guards.

The Royal Bodyguard was a comeback of one of the British comedy icons - David Jason. The idea was similiar to The Detectives: completely "normal" plots from police drama were turned into comedy. In The Royal Bodyguard the normal plots for security people were mixed with the clumsiness of Hubble and his overzealous nature. It wasn’t bad idea, but 71-year-old David Jason making a slapstick comedy didn’t really worked. It’s hard to tell what exactly went wrong - there wasn’t atmosphere, there wasn’t chemistry, there wasn’t enough comedy about it.
