A small clothing company manager simply can’t control his female workers, especially the shop steward Paddy who uses all opportunities to show him who really runs the workshop.
Created by Ronald Wolfe and Ronald Chesney The Rag Trade is very similiar to their other work - On The Buses - and not only because Reg Varney played in both of them. The whole outlook of the two shows are very similiar - working class characters trying to avoid the work and the manager trying to force them to work.
Just like many other comedy series from early 1960’s The Rag Trade has slow pace, simple plots, not many good jokes. It can be enjoyable if you don’t have high expectations.
