Peter Chapman, a university teacher, is approached by the MI5 to join their staff as technical specialist. He is reluctant to change his comfortable life, but it the MI5 will not take "no" for an asnwer.
The Piglet Files is another British comedy series that are presenting the parody of officials, who are either too incompetent or too lazy to do their job properly (Men from the Ministry, Yes Minister, The Detectives, The Thin Blue Line, Cabin Pressure to name few), so it can hardly be called original.
The scripts for the episodes were (similiar to f.e. The Detectives) written as completely normal cases that MI5 would take care of, so the whole series was kept down to earth and on that base the comical elements were added. The incompetence and stupidity of MI5 officers are creating rather entertaining atmosphere, cast played their parts well, but lack of really strong comical elements is striking. Comparing to other series it was just average - fun to watch most of the time, but then again there were sitcoms with similiar topics and much higher level of entertainment.
