Mindy Lahiri is Indian obstetrician / gynecologist, who often confuses the reality with the scenes from her favorite romantic comedies. Her life is equally complicated to a romantic comedy heroin, but with not so many happy endings.

The series started with original idea for the main character as hopeless and unlucky doctor, who can’t help the feeling that her life is not what she is seeing on the romantic comedies. But with time it has changed to what might be called a substitute for a romantic comedy - instead of seeking the chance to find the true love the main character seems to have far too many candidates to be "the one" and, just like with exactly same transformation that took place in Drew Carey Show, it doesn’t seem to work well. Her on-and-off relationships with few men are causing the repetition of the same routines over and over again.

The characters are well developed, the atmosphere is usually rather good, but the series lacks funny elements that would bright up the whole romantic overtones that keep repeating themselves.
