Amanda Doyle becomes the new area manager for Swift and Shift Couriers, but while inspecting one of the depots she is shocked by the people, who work there. And you will be too...
Imagine the worst office you have ever been - full of lazy halfwits, ignorants, perverts, frustrated idiots and laid back people incapable to deal with simple tasks. And now imagine they are handling the valuable package you are waiting for...
That’s how Swift and Shift couriers are working - underpayed, undertrained and none of them really gives a damn. On the other hand we have Amanda Doyle, the new area manager, who tries to change the Hashfield depot in 21st century outfit. In charge of that depot is veteran Keith Warne, who works in Swift and Shift 30 years and doesn’t really want to get involved in any revolutions - if he has a quite moment and trusty flask full of alcohol then he is a happy man. His staff on the other hand is wide range of characters - form annoying to sympathetic and from laid back to temperamental, but they all have one thing in common - they really don’t care. The drivers and the loading dock staff is different - drivers are always on the run and always angry, while loading dock workers concentrate on pranks and beer.
Swift and Shift Couriers is one of the comedy series created by Paul Fenech, who has tendency to create lots of characters for his series, each of them with quite unique style or personality. His series also are often on the verge of poor taste or sometimes even far beyond that border. It is hard to describe Swift and Shift Couriers in just few words. Is it a good comedy? Not really. Is it funny? Very rarely. Does it have interesting plots? Not really. Is it politically correct? Nope, far from it. Is it entertaining? Hell yeah!
Swift and Shift Couriers is a chaos full of colorful characters and poor jokes, but also it is one of those comedy series that you don’t really care if they are good or not. When you get used to childish or poor taste jokes you just watch it and have fun from the energy that this chaos creates. Few episiodes were below par, obviously made so Paul Fenech could put his vacation in the production costs, but apart from that this is a good fun.
