Roseanne is overweight, lough-mouthed, dominating mother that works in plastic factory and takes care of her husband and kids.

Roseanne was a one of the very few American sitcoms set in working class family and perhaps this was the reason why this show was so popular with the audience. Frasier, Friends, Seinfeld, NewsRadio, Caroline in the City - all of them pictured people who made it to the top (or at least were on a way to the top), but Roseanne (similiar to Married with Children) had characters that knew they’re not going anywhere with their lives and they tried to make the best of what they have.

Low-key humour, unusual approach to people raltions, many important issues won the hearts of millions.
