Robin Tripp after leaving the Ropers’ house (Man About the House) shares a flat above the restaurant with his almost fiancee Victoria. Victoria’s father owns the restaurant, so Robin has a chance to open his own place.
Robin’s Nest is another spin-off (next to George and Mildred) from successful series Man About the House. The creators decided to brake up the series, Ropers and tenants went different ways (well, at least Robin), which didn’t work well. Robin’s Nest was a move in completely wrong direction - dropping both girls from Man About the House and replacing them with Victoria and her father were strange to say the least. The chemistry in Robin’s Nest was much weaker, the plots were much simplier and the whole thing was heading nowhere. Robin’s character placed in such oldfashioned setting was a mistake - his style and jokes were wasted in the surrounding.
Overall - just like George and Mildred it was a wasted opportunity to make something new and fresh based on successful Man About the House. Separating Ropers and tenants didn’t work well for both parts.
