Brian Potter is a wheelchair driving, ill-tempered, proud owner of the Phoenix club in Bolton. His club offers various kinds of entertainment - from bingo and folk music to bullriding and psychic shows.
Phoenix Nights at first seems rough and a little bit gloomy, but once the entertainment starts it all goes away. The adventures or misadventures of the Phoenix staff are fun to watch even if sometimes the plots aren’t too challenging. The ill-tempered owner of the club that has visions that are way beyond the reality of Bolton are producing many entertaining situations.
Unfortunately what worked in first season (different "special offers" in the club each episode) was dropped in the second season and the story arch was introduced instead which in our opinion failed completely which reflected on our ratings of the show. Nevertheless worth to see.
