Miranda is 30-something girl (yes, contrary to her appearance and common belief she is a girl) that runs a novelty shop and tries not to take life too seriously.
Miranda is running a novelty shop with her best friend Stevie. Her mother, Penny, keeps pressuring Miranda to find a steady job and a husband.

| Miranda bumps into an old friend, Gary, who opened his own restaurant just around the corner. He asks her for a drink, excited about her first real date Miranda goes shopping. |

| Stevie persuades Miranda to join her French language evening course to feel more sophisticated. This plan backfires when Mirands finds the course to be runned by her former teacher that she did not really like. But this is not the big surprise. |

| Penny pushes Miranda to find a proper career. She goes for a job interview in a department store, which goes awkward when she begins to sing. |

| When a new customer makes Miranda realise she isn’t cool, but she is young, free and single, she spontaneously decides to go off to Thailand for a few days. But of course she does it in her own unique way. |

| After attending a wedding, Penny decides to hold a Pride and Prejudice-themed party to set Miranda up with Edmund Dettori. |
