Two female flatmates, Chrissy and Jo, agrees to share their flat with a student chef Robin as long as he promises to cook for them and keep his hands to himself, which isn’t easy for him, at least the second part.

One of the most enjoyable British comedy series of 1970’s centeres around three flatmates: two girls and a young man. Of course the jokes based simply on the fact that a guy lives with two girls would quickly lose it’s appeal, but the writers added a marriage bored with each other and even hostile most of the time. All of that gave really enjoyable mixture of different kinds of humour.

Man About the House can’t be compared with the greatest British sitcoms, but considering that there were two rather succesful spin-offs (George and Mildred, Robin’s Nest) plus successful American version (Three’s Company) gives the idea how universal the humour was. There weren’t many flaws in the show (some acting could have been better, some of the plots were weaker than the others), so overall definately show not to be missed.
