The soldiers from Royal Artillery Depot Concert Party at Deolali, India in 1945 have to face problems like Japanese threat, the heat, the revolt of locals, but what scares them most is their Sergeant-Major Williams.
The war is close to end and everybody in the Concert Party think about coming back home.

| Since the war is over natives came back to the village and want their huts back, which causes conflict with Sergeant Major. |
6 | The Long Road Home |
| Concerty party members are set for the way back home, but when it turns out that there isn’t enough vaccine for all of them. Lofty, who didn’t get the injection will have to stay behind. |
7 | The Last Roll Call |
| The concert party members reach England, where they discover that noone is particularly happy with their return. |
