Clumsy and extremely unlucky Englishman in California tries to blend in and find the girl of his dreams.

Series based on the idea to show how the really bad dates look like. The creators used a lot from their own experience in that matter, so they made it into series, where clumsy and unattractive men are trying everything that comes to their minds to find the perfect women. It sounds like a good idea for the show, if there wouldn’t be one tiny problem - their characters are looking for perfect women and perfect women only. Any woman that it less than perfect they pretty much treat like dirt or rather they don’t even notice them, so it’s hard to call them likeable. Shallow, cheap, insensitive yes, likeable not really. Wade does try to follow his love, but even his friendship with Stuart is only superficial. Shows like for example IT Crowd or Big Bang Theory did managed to present equally social inadequate people, but in a way the viewers can relate to the main characters.

The scripts were usually well written, but often in an episode there was one good and funny scene and the rest of the episode was just build-up for that one glorious moment. The show was cancelled after first season and it isn’t great loss for comedy.
