Series based on stand-up comedy by Ray Romano. He plays a sport journalist, who leaves his wife to deal with their kids and the his invasive mother that lives just across the street.
As someone said before Everybody Loves Raymond is 6 scenarios copied into 200 episodes. The main character is being jerk, his wife is angry at him, his mother is annoying, his father is slob, his brother is whining and that’s about it. There were few good moments, but overall the writing was highly repetitive. Also Ray Romano isn’t a professional actor and this shows - everytime he tries to mimic something he looks like he is in pain. The characters are one-dimensional and jokes just keeps being repeated until it hurts to see them again.
