TV news station GlobeLink News is taken over by new owner, who puts Gus Hedges as head of the station to oversee the whole operation. The journalists have of course total freedom... as long as they follow certain guidelines.

George runs the Globelink News to the limit of his skills under pressure from Gus and co-workers, but his problems at home begin to influence his decisions.

The Gulf Report

Under pressure during television interview George makes promise that the results of the internal enquiry about Gulf War coverage will be made public, but noone is happy about this. Meanwhile daughter of Sir Roysten takes up a minor position in the office and George makes mistake of putting Dave in charge of showing her the ropes.

The Trevorman Cometh

The financial situation of GlobeLink is difficult and Gus is planning to force the staff to take paycuts or start firing people.

Henry & Dido

Henry helps young female singer promote herself by being seen with him, but unfortunately Henry falls in love with her.

Baseball

Gus forces staff to join the baseball team as part of competition with his older brother Julian. When photocopier repairman arrives in the offices he helps the staff to see "the average man on the street" point of view.

Drunk Minister

When minister arrives for his interview completely drunk staff is trying to put him off the idea of getting on the air.

Alex and the Interpreter

A visiting Russian businessman falls in love with Alex, but since he doesn’t speak English the interpreter has to be involved. Unfortunately for Alex the interpreter has his own issues to consider.

Hoax

When Damien receives hot news he is keen to go on with the story, but George wants to check the sources. Meanwhile Henry has problems with solving the last clue in the crosswords.

Don’t Mention the Arabs

Gus tries to prevent Henry’s documentary about arms deals from being broadcast since this could put Sir Roysten in bad light. Sally suddenly becomes a Christian and annoys everyone around with her new personality.

Damien Down and Out

Damien tries to live on the streets for a week to make a realistic report, but his crew doesn’t help him much. George is depressed when wife walks out on him.

The Evangelist

The evangelist who helped Sally find Jesus visits GlobeLink in the hope they may cover his rally in London, but despite his efforts staff is against it.

George’s Daughter

Deborah, George’s daughter, is suspended from school, and visits GlobeLink office just when TV crew is making fly-on-the-wall documentary about the newsroom.

Dave’s Day

George puts his faith in Dave when he asks him to deliver important tape to Sir Roysten. Dave tells the story what happened during that trip.

Xmas Party

Christmas Party leads to surprising discoveries in the morning - Alex and Dave find themselves naked in the same bed, George wakes up in a railway station, Gus whole day receives the complaints about the staff behavior last night.
