Martin Tupper works as editor for company that publishes cheap and sleazy books. His ex-wife married a man far beyond the point of being perfect. His secretary is lazy and has no respect for him. Since his life is in a mess Martin dives into the world of dating again and meets dozens of strange women.
It is often referred as adult comedy because of certain style in which the episodes were composed - naked women in almost every episode made the series stood out of the competition. Sex was often large part of the plots since Martin was dating dozens of women. Also there was a unique aspect added to the outlook of the show - often black and white quotes from old movies were describing Martin’s feelings or put the comment to the situation.
The series itself has good moments and bad moments - some episodes were very good, some of them were rather disappointing, but overall it was rather entertaining show. Of course since there were many jokes about sex or plots connected to Martin’s sex life the show wasn’t for everyone. But putting the nudity and sex aside there was some more value which now is completely missing f.e. in Californication.
