Women working in factory canteen somewhere in Manchester have plenty of time to talk while they prepare the meals and they have a lot to talk about - each of them have personal problems to deal with.
Dinnerladies is one of the few examples that slow pace comedy still can find large number of viewers. The whole story was rather simple - few women work in factory canteen in Manchester with Tony as their manager. Each episode is taking place in their working place and they deal with everyday problems. Most of the characters were well built and fit the chemistry of the group, the scripts were good, but for most viewers the real challenge could be a very strong northern accent used by some of the characters.
Overall it was a good project with a little bit limited potential, but still it was rather unexpected that Victoria Wood decided to end it after just 2 seasons. Pity.
