Aulus Paulinus, as a punishment given by the emperor Hadrian, is given the worst job Hadrian could think of - he becomes new governor of Britain. Although he heard about the land being damp and gloomy, the reality of his new job is worse than his worst nightmares.

| Aulus Paulinus asks Badvoc to an orgy (no, the Roman orgy, where they eat and drink... mostly eat and drink), but the rumors circulate that they plan to poison each other. |
3 | The Girl of My Dreams |
| Aulus Paulinus is trapped in his palace together with Badvoc, Functio and Grasientus when tribe of women warriors siege the place. When the food is running out they become desperate. |
4 | One for the Road |
| Aulus Paulinus plans to build a road between London and Chelmsford, but it would go straight through the building very precious for Badvoc - a brothel. |

| Badvoc is kidnapped by the mysterious tribe and Aulus Paulinus is prepared to rescue him... at least until he meets Gargamadua, the wife of Badvoc. |
