The detectives from Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct have their own ways of conducting investigations and usually they are not the most obvious ones. Their new boss, first ever black gay to become a captain, tries to get them in shape.

There were few good attempts to make a sitcom about police officers, like Police Squad, Barney Miller, The Detectives or The Thin Blue Line and so far all of the were successful. I guess it is hard to spoil the genre - when you can use any number of criminals they have to chase, any kind of operations they can be involve in or all the things that can go wrong every day. And in case of Brooklyn Nine-Nine the wining streak continues.

The overall idea is not very original - we have a set of odd detectives working together and their superior, who tries to keep things running smoothly. The episodes have usually quite realistic events as base of the plots, so it could be entertaining for fans of comedy and police shows. When it comes to comedy not everything worked well in the scripts, some of them were better than the others, but what really helps this comedy series is good atmosphere and chemistry between characters.
