Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is epicentre of crime in the area, mostly because of Julian and Ricky, small time criminals that grew up there and now try every possible way to get reach without putting too much effort in it.

Trio of friends - shady Julian, loud-mouth Ricky and smart Bubbles - each of them completely different, but they have in common are two things: they all grew up on Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and now, in their 30s, they try to make ends meet without putting too much effort in it. While Bubbles tries his luck by stealing shopping carts, fixing them up and selling them back to the stores, Ricky and Julian are ex-convicts, who see their petty crimes or growing marijuana as their only plan for the future. We meet them as the documentary crew tries to show how life looks like in Sunnyvale under the supervision of ex-cop Jim Lahey and his shirtless deputy Randy.

While most of the series is shown in mockumentary style we actually see much more than the filming crew would normally see - not only the things that Julian, Ricky and Bubble would like people to see. We accompany them when they plan their crimes, when they commit them, when they fail completely and end up in prison. Apart from their criminal careers we see their lives in the trailer park, where everything is smaller and alcohol helps people deal with their reality.

Trailer Park Boys is one of those comedy shows that is not a typical mainstream comedy - there are some good moments just like in sitcoms, there are some well developed dialogues like in sitcoms, but the value of this show is rather in atmosphere and characters, not gags or physical comedy. During the seasons that were written by original creator, Mike Clattenburg, Trailer Park Boys kept their originality and their style, but since season 8, when three main actors (John Paul Tremblay, Robb Wells, Mike Smith) took over the brand and started writing on their own the level has significantly dropped and the plots became very repetitive constantly revolving around the rights to the trailer park and their "big score".

Trailer Park Boys became icon for the viewers, who love the themes of getting drunk, getting high, bumbling idiots trying to commit crimes, but with time their style sort of faded out and recent seasons are far from the level of original series, but once you get hooked to the atmosphere of Sunnyvale Trailer Park you will watch it until the end.
