Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld comedy series based on the events from his life, now shows how his life really looks like. More or less real life since most of the scenes were improvised by the actors.

If you’re not huge fan of Seinfeld (like me) they you probably won’t find the Curb Your Enthusiasm especially appealing to you. But if you are huge fan of Seinfeld they you will see it as a simple continuity since the general idea and some stories are exactly the same.

First of all it’s hard to forget that this isn’t Seinfeld anymore - Larry David in some scenes acts like Seinfeld, in others like George and in the rest he is just goofy comedian wondering around the streets and getting again and again in embarassing situations. Most of the scenes are completely improvised, which is usually more fun for the actors than for the viewers and also declines the value of the show, because in improvisation some things will work and some thing won’t. In Curb Your Enthusiasm most of the scenes are too similiar to Seinfeld style, so they are pretty predictible or they end up in one of two not really funny options: loud arguments or Larry David being annoying.

In general it was interesting idea, but just linking together plots made of tiny anecdotes simply isn’t enough for the show to be as entertaining as Seinfeld was. The episodes seems like the dropouts from the Seinfeld scripts rather than a new show - if Larry David wanted to continue Seinfeld, then he should do it, but if he was looking for something new he shouldn’t use so many elements and actors from Seinfeld.
