Doctor Martin Ellingham moves to a small town of Portwenn in Cornwall, where he used to spend his childhood. He meets his rather ecentric neighbours and patients, but the fact is he isn’t an average doctor either.
New GP arrives to Portwenn to take over from Martin, but he has his personal reasons to stay longer.

| The Portwenn fund raising running event brings quite a crowd to the village, but Martin’s main concern is Louisa’s mother taking care of their baby. |

| PC Penhale’s ex-wife turns up on the police station and acts like they were still married. |
6 | Don’t Let Go |
| When his ex-wife regains the memory PC Penhale tries to win her over so she would stay with him in Portwenn. Martin is called to school where few children are running a "dare club" and put their health in danger. |
7 | Cats & Sharks |
| Bert Large has financial problems and goes to the loan shark. Florence Dingle that runs a cat sanctuary nearby tries to raise some money. Martin is put in difficult position when Louisa’s mother has strange stomach aches. |
8 | Ever After |
| Pharmacist Mrs Tishell sees her chance to get closer to Martin since his relationship with Louisa seems to be a history. |
