Stan Smith is a CIA agent, but this does not mean he can’t be a good father and loving husband. It only means that he has an alien as lodger and from time to time he has to leave early to blow something up.

After a fairly succesful series Family Guy Seth MacFarlane with two of former writers from Family Guy have started a new series called American Dad which actually was... a simple copy of Family Guy. Well, ok, let’s be fair they actually did switched talking kid for talking alien and talking dog for talking fish, so there you have it - a brand new idea.

Despite rather limited characters and poor writing American Dad reached the 7th season which is amazing achievement. But unfortunately it just seems to get more and more depressing when insted of creating funny situations they just get personal with some of known actors or creators (and sometimes not even that well known) which is exactly why Family Guy hit the bottom.

To put it another words - American Dad is very uninventive series based mostly on the fame of Family Guy. If you’re looking for entertainment then better try the original and not the fade copy.
