The detectives from Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct have their own ways of conducting investigations and usually they are not the most obvious ones. Their new boss, first ever black gay to become a captain, tries to get them in shape.
Captain Ray Holt takes over the 99th Precinct and tries to force the detectives to do everything by the book.

| Halloween night is one the busiest on the precinct, but despite efforts of Boyle Amy still finds it hard to enjoy the holiday. |

| Jake made the arrest of suspect without proper evidence and now he has only 48 hours to find them. |
8 | Old School |
| Jake spends a day with a former crime-reporter that he respects as member of "old school", but soon finds out that the reporter used his strong views on precint in his next article. |

| Jake tries to catch the arsonist, who recently destroyed his favorite pizzeria. But the problem is also Fire Marshall Boone, who feels that it is his investigation. |

| Amy hosts a Thanksgiving dinner at her apartment for colleagues from precinct, hoping to ask Holt to be her mentor. |

| When Holt receives death threats Jake is assigned to protect him and makes use of the temporary power he has over Holt. |

| Jake and Rosa try to catch the notorious car thief that became their obsession. |

| After winning the bet over Amy Jake plans the Jake plans the "worst date ever" as her punishment. |
