The Radio Active station offers all the "entertainment" you can take - from talk shows to live sport and from quiz shows to serious politics. Well, politics anyway...

Radio Active, the station that offers all kinds of entertainment with a quite original approach to each and every one of them - from covering the music festivals and sport events to quizzes and look at the European Union and religion. With dedicated staff that included Mike Flex, experienced Mike Channel, rather dimwitted Martin Brown and unpredictable Anna Daptor they charge every topic without hesitation, but unfortunately often without a deep knowledge.

Radio comedy show (later turned into TV series KYTV) starring Geoffrey Perkins, Angus Deayton, Helen Atkinson-Wood and Michael Fenton Stevens as the on-air staff of the radio station and Philip Pope written parodies of well known songs and artists created a unique piece of entertainment. Just like in case of KYTV the Radio Active was pretending to be an independent station that is just for half an hour being broadcast in the mainstream media. Usually it was also suggested that just before they showed up on your airwaves something spectacular was happening on Radio Active or will just moments after they will disappear from your station. The talent of Philip Pope to emulate well known musicians was filling the gaps in the program, which was the main difference between Radio Active and KYTV, but apart from that KYTV was extension of Radio Active with best parts chosen from different episodes and put together with much better effect.

Very original show based on the live performances of The Oxford Revue on 1979 Edinburgh Festival Fringe that later was adapted for television. The radio version, where sketches were mixed between musical numbers were good idea for radio show, but at the same time the musical interruptions made the program lacking the pace. Especially the early episodes were a bit chaotic and it took some time for the creators to come up with the more topical formula for the show that later made KYTV such success.
