Sam Porter is a not very successful fantasy writer. At least until he is approached by people from another world looking for the Chosen One that will help them with the quest for Sword of Asnagar.
Sam Porter is bored with fans of his fantasy books, who delve into every details of his stories. But this is about to change when he is approached by people wearing, as he assumed, cosplay gear. As he soon learns they actually came from another world through a portal that is about to close, they look for the Chosen One that will help them in their quest for Sword of Asnagar. Of course Sam assumes he is the Chosen One, but it turns out the Chosen One is actually his dog, Amis. They both cross the portal that closes behind them and join the quest for Sword of Asnagar - Amis (now turned into a man) because it is his fate, Sam because without the sword he won’t be able to return to his reality. Together with sexy Penthiselea the Warrior Princess, dumb as doornail Vidar the Elf Lord and Dean the Dwarf, who is... the dwarf, they set out to a journey into the world in which Lord Darkness will do anything to stop them.
Radio show that is parody of Lord of the Ring and similar fantasy stories, but with a nice twist (or two) - cynical Sam, who is among the good guys and Lord Darkness, who has his personal problems getting in the way of ruling the world. While it may seem like a production clearly appealing to a fantasy fans ElvenQuest is actually a good fun for all audiences. Good cast and unconventional scripts put it among the best radio comedy shows of recent years.
