Communist government declares martial law in Poland, Ochodzki is trapped between his former contacts with communists and completely uknown world of Solidarity. But he didn’t lost his skill as a deceiver. The title of the movie (Controlled Conversations) derived from the fact that during the martial law in Poland all the conversations over phone were under surveilance and the dry automatic voice in the phone was repeating from time to time "this conversation is being controlled".
