Austin Powers is a unique kind of secret agent - with license to be sexually overactive and to make some lame jokes. His arch enemy is Dr Evil, who keeps plotting to take over the world... or to just get rid of Powers.
Mike Myers’ style isn’t for everyone’s taste and the Austin Powers series isn’t an exception. First of all the idea for James Bond movies parody isn’t that original, but Myers made some effort and actually created something that stands out from other such movies. He based the idea on rather heavy sexual innuendos and hugely over-the-top performances which definately can’t be overlooked.
But when it comes to details the Austin Powers movies are mixture of not that bad jokes, bad jokes and very bad jokes. The level of toilet humour and innuendos usually are really, really low which actually kills rather good idea and quite enjoyable atmosphere of the movies.
