Born 22 July 1930 in Danbury. British actor and television and film writer, best known for his cooperation with David Croft. They realized several sitcoms together, including a very popular Are You Being Served? and ’Allo ’Allo!. Known also for The Dickie Henderson Show, Laugh-In. In his youth he worked as a suit salesman at Simpson’s, a department store in London’s Piccadilly. In 2013 he was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to British Comedy.
