Three hypochondriacs Roy Figgis, Norman Binns and Archie Glover are put together in same ward of NHS hospital, where they try hard to keep occupied while the doctors can figure out what is wrong with them.
Despite all his efforts doctor Thorpe can’t find any problems with the three patients and is more and more convinced that thye problem is in their minds.

| A film crew are at the hospital making a fly-on-the-wall documentary about doctor Thorpe and everything is going well until the patients starts to get in the way. |
2 | Adam’s Rib |
| When a new young female doctor arrives on the ward the patients are happy, but doctor Thorpe sees it as a problem. |
3 | The Right Honourable Gentleman |
| A Member of Parliament is placed on the ward, but the patients find who it is they change their opinions completely. |
4 | Postman’s Knock |
| Clare Butterfield, a columnist in the newspaper, receives a letter from "Worried of Ward 3", but her reply creates havoc on the ward. |
5 | Accident |
| When Norman witnesses an accident involving doctor Thorpe Glover and Figgis proves him that he can’t be sure what exactly happened. |
6 | Dear Diary |
| Figgis and Glover dicover that Norman is writing his diary, but when they finally get there hand on it the content will be a great surprise. |
7 | These You Have Loved |
| The trio are fed up with hospital radio and are convinced they could do it better themselves. |
8 | Away for Christmas |
| Christmas Special episode. It’s Christmas at the hospital and although not everyone is enjoying the festive spirits, the trio take a keen interest in a new patient on the their ward - a young boy away from his family. |
