2000s British tv sitcom
Bernard Black is owner of small old-fashioned bookshop that barely breaks even, mostly thanks to Bernard’s customer service skills... that he has none. He hires Manny to help around the shop, but his happy-go-lucky attitude really gets on Bernard’s nerves.

Fran returns from holiday to find Bernard alone in the cluttered shop and Manny working next door in the Goliath Books chain bookshop.

| Fran returns from visit to Cornwall to find Bernard alone and miserable. In the building next door the Goliath Books chain bookshop was opened and Manny decided to take job there. |
2 | Elephants and Hens |
| Fran joins her friends for hen night, while Bernard and Manny decide to write the best book for children in the history. |
3 | Moo-Ma and Moo-Pa |
| Manny panics when he gets the information that his parents are coming to visit, especially since he wasn’t completely honest about his life in the letters he was sending them. |
4 | A Little Flutter |
| Fran is hoping to get a job, but to impress the interviewer she needs to have some more in her CV, so she asks Bernard to hire her for few days. Meanwhile unwittingly Manny pushes Bernard into gambling addiction. |
5 | Travel Writer |
| Manny is excited that well known travel writer Jason Hamilton will be doing the book launch party in the Black Books. |

| It’s friday night and Manny is anxious to go to the party, especially since he hopes to meet a girl called Rowena there. |
